Guidelines on use of infant formula to treat cows milk allergy

Cow’s milk protein allergy is an immune reaction to cow’s milk protein affecting about 2% of children under 2 years. It can occur in infants fed infant formula as well as those exclusively breast fed. New guidelines have been prepared, by a panel of clinicians, on the use of infant formula in treating cow’s milk protein allergy in Australia (1).
