Breast Feeding clinics help mums with breast feeding difficulties
Breast feeding clinics have an important role in helping women experiencing difficulties with breast feeding. The help they receive means they are more likely to continue with breast feeding.
Women attending a breast feeding clinic in Quebec Canada were interviewed. The major problems mentioned by the women were painful nipples/breasts, low milk supply and difficulties baby had in latching onto the breast. The support provided by family and friends as well as by health professionals and clinicians at the clinic were identified by the mothers as having a positive effect on their breast feeding experience
