Professor Lynne Daniels (Queensland University of Technology):The Nourish Study
How a child learns to eat is just as important for future growth and risk of obesity as what he actually eats. In this podcast Heather Ferguson, Corporate Nutritionist with Heinz, talks to Professor Lynne Daniels from the Queensland University of Technology about The Nourish Study.
The Nourish Study, is an intervention study which will evaluate what effects early positive feeding practices have on a young child's food preferences, dietary intakes and future growth. It is being funded by the NH&MRC with Heinz providing sponsorship for 4 years for a Post- Doctoral Fellow to support the research.
Lynne discusses the background to the study and the 5 key themes which will be investigated: 1. Learning to like;Liking to eat 2. Parents provide;Child decides 3. Early feeding habits track to adulthood 4. Setting a good example 5. Importance of the parent and child relationship.

liking to eat is so key in the child's development. Matters a lot what they eat and see eaten.
