A national diabetes assessment report predicts a continuing rise in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in Australia with one in three Gen Y's being affected by the disease during their lifetime. The report calls for more strategies and funding to be put in place to curtail and combat the disease.
A Perth study has found that children whose mothers had low levels of vitamin D during pregnancy experienced more language difficulties at ages 5 and 10 years than those children whose mothers had adequate levels of vitamin D during their pregnancy .
