Allergy Awareness Week

Allergy Awareness week to promote allergy awareness amongst the community and foster education is being held between the 14th-18th May 2012. This years focus is to make food service providers aware of the importance of allergy. It is estimated that one in ten children under 5 years of age have an allergy.

The NSW Food Authority in conjunction with Anaphylaxis Australia has produced a booklet for food service titled Be Prepared, Be Aware It's worth the effort.

Etraining modules for health professionals on allergies and anaphylaxis are available.
