The Heinz Infant feeding Advisory Service (HIFAS) has been part of Heinz in Australia for over 20 years. HIFAS is a nutrition education and information service to health professionals and parents.
A team of 9 nurses (advisers) make regular contact with child health centres, doctors, pediatricians, hospitals and other health groups to keep them up to date with infant nutrition issues and provide a range of booklets, teaching resources and samples.
HIFAS dietitians use the latest scientific research to write booklets and pamphlets on infant nutrition to be used by parents, as well as material for health professionals.
The aim of HIFAS is to give practical guidelines from breastfeeding to family food, so that healthy feeding habits established in babyhood will provide a good foundation on which a child can grow and develop to become a healthy adult.
